In today’s rapidly urbanizing world, buildings and infrastructure are responsible for a substantial portion ofglobal energy consumption, particularly in heating, cooling, and lighting. As urban populations grow andthe demand for energy-intensive services increases, there is an urgent need for innovative and sustainablesolutions that can reduce energy use and minimize environmental impact. Traditional constructionmaterials, such as concrete, are robust and cost-effective but lack the ability to manage or utilize ambientthermal energy efficiently.To address these challenges, the present invention proposes a Smart Concrete Composite as atransformative approach in the field of construction materials. The development of a composite materialthat can store, manage, and convert thermal energy into electrical energy represents a significantadvancement in sustainable building technology. By integrating advanced components such as PhaseChange Materials (PCMs) for thermal energy storage, Graphene Nanoplatelets (GNPs) for enhancedthermal conductivity, and a thermoelectric conversion system to generate electricity from temperaturegradients, this invention redefines the role of concrete in energy management. The Smart ConcreteComposite is designed not only to improve the thermal performance of buildings but also to activelygenerate renewable energy, contributing to the reduction of external energy dependence.
